I need some help selecting the cover art for my forthcoming book, Early Evangelicalism: A Reader. My initial idea was to use portraits of eight diverse eighteenth-century evangelicals, but the cost of securing the copyright for so many images may be too high.
I can't think of any one image that captures evangelicalism in the eighteenth-century transatlantic world
In order to avoid repetition, I would prefer not to use the images of George Whitefield preaching that have been used on the cover of books such as Bruce Hindmarsh's The Evangelical Conversion Narrative and Doug Sweeney's The American Evangelical Story.
Is there a single image that captures eighteenth-century evangelicalism?
