Southern Seminary and the History of Christianity

Southern Seminary is hosting a conference on 18-19 February 2009. There should be several stimulating papers. I am particularly interested in Gary Dorrien's paper on 'Liberal Theology, the Social Gospel, and the Invention of Social Ethics'. His three volume work titled The Making of American Liberal Theology is an excellent contribution to the study of religious history in America.

I am also looking forward to Grant Wacker's paper, and upcoming book, on Billy Graham.

See more details, including a pdf program of the event, here.

Just found the blog. DWB is the 'supplementary supervisor'/'external supervisor' of my dissertation at Baylor. I look forward to catching up on the older posts.

Hey Vaun,

Thanks for stopping by. What are you researching? Did Tommy turn you on to David?

There has been an absence of posts for 2009 thus far, but we hope to start getting things rolling here again soon.

Best,

Andy
